figgy
At least the loaf won't get squashed like most with a bread knife. Stay safe, wear gloves.

JKD
Point the index finger on the grip, and use the whole length of the blade,,,, both of which will keep the cut straight and keep the slices neat and tidy to drop in that lovely purple toaster,,,, glad to help 👍 😀

Old farrier
It’s a novice way (for ladies and kids) 😂 I run mine through the band saw 😊👍 butter is easy lump onto the bread and blowtorch and paint brush

marsh man
6 hours ago, JDog said: We are back painting and decorating and must have forgotten the bread knife. Far easier with a tenon saw ( smaller teeth ) , hack saw is alright but bit a job to get a nice neat slice , look like a decent loaf of bread Mr JDog . JDog
Thank you Gentlemen for the varied replies to this thread, twice as many as I would normally get for a report about pigeon shooting. The picture wasn’t posed. The purple toaster was £10 and has served us well. No that is not a sample in the jar. The slices were squashed down (also by the saw) and fitted in the toaster perfectly. The hat is my wife’s normal painting attire. No butter was spread by the saw. We had sliced salt beef. My manhood is still intact (if a little small).
