Both the mrs and I are key workers with a commute.

We both have 17 plates cars that are due an MOT in the next 2-3 weeks. (They were booked in but everywhere is now closed)

Where do we stand legally on driving?

Any suggestions, where to seek advice?

Got a call from garage where wife’s 17 plate Mini was booked in for MOT tomorrow to be told a staff member had gone awol due to the virus so they can’t do ours tomorrow ! I called BMW where it’s booked in for 2nd TLC service (fingers crossed they don’t try to slime their way out of it being free) on the 26th and asked them to see if they can squeeze it in if there is a cancellation, wife works for the NHS so kinda really need a road legal car.

Interesting times and problems.

we are still open for mot and essential work as a mot test station and classed as essential workers as long as precautions in personal contact in place we had three nhs doctors nurse staff booked in as we are close to local hospital and as staff are showing no signs of illness ok  one staff member self isolated as his wife is on vunrable list  so we are plodding on while we can till total shut down prevails or government assistance becomes available to self employed
