marsh man
What can confuse people a bit is the Sand Martin which from a distance look like a Swallow start arriving to the UK in March and people living on the coast are more likely to see a Sand Martin before a Swallow , around here on the Norfolk coast the first Swallows are normally reported around the third week in April , having said that with all the nice weather we have been getting it wouldn't surprise me to hear about a sighting any day soon . Clodhopper
My mother saw one on Monday in this part of Lincolnshire. Around the 10th April is when we would expect to see the first arrival. I have not seen one yet. The earliest I have ever seen one was on the 23rd of March in the mid nineties.

I rent a wee cottage on a farm , about a mile from the main road . The other track 3/4 mile I am down to a quite little beach , that hardly anyone goes to . Glenluce gun room as a small clayground were you can shoot skeet or DTL . We have a key and a dongle to use the machine . I could never see myself moving back to a town now . Please come back when all this settles you will be made most welcome . For now stay safe .

I may have been in that shop in Dumfries. My family had a static caravan at Sandgreen in the Gatehouse of fleet for over 30 years and I spent a couple of weeks every summer up there, what a great part of the world. atb 7diaw
