Announcement on B&Q website

Having watched other essential retailers support social distancing in their stores, we are now in a position to follow best practice and re-open a small number of stores as a trial, while keeping our colleagues and customers safe. The trial stores are: Cardiff (Culverhouse Cross), Chester, Coventry (Brandon Road), Fareham, Gillingham, Ipswich, Nursling, Paisley, Plymouth, Stockport, Sutton in Ashfield, Watford, West Thurrock, and York (Hull Road). Click + Collect is temporarily not available at these stores.

Used click and collect at wicks in S****horpe.

B&q website is pointless, my Mrs waited 40 minutes in an online queue to then be told they don't stock the item even though it was on their website to buy and collect.

B&Q will only sell what they deem essential, it will show online and In stock but when it comes to basket it will say out of stock, I have had this also. Wickes website is queued system too.

I hadn’t realised any had closed. Our local B&Q ( Penrith, Cumbria ) has thankfully been open throughout and trading via click and collect.

Ours reopened their ‘Trade Point’ fortune as the click n collect was running days behind due to all the new ‘gardeners’

B & Q? Not for me. I had a nasty experience there once. No. Never again.

As I walked in this old bloke in an orange apron came up to me from behind a lot of grooved 4x2 timber planks asking "Do you want decking?"

Fortunately I did a quick sidestep and got my punch in first, but only just, and then a quick knee kick. Down he went like a sack of potatoes.

Narrow escape that. I won't go to a B & Q nowadays. Very nasty. Too risky.

Anyone know if Screwfix are open for business ?

I managed to pick up 16 bags of general purpose compost last week at a local nursery. Good system booked and payed over the phone, drove to the gate and then just inside the main gate were two barrows with my bags and receipt. Just wheeled them out to the trailer through the single person gate. Brilliant.   Picked up 10 bags of FYM rom my local farm shop as wll but they delivered for me.

S/fix near us are click and collect at the door only.

Wicke's do FYM at £3.60 per 50kg bags, reduced from when I got some about 6 weeks ago for bag growing spuds around the lawn edges. click/collect.

Our screw fix is open but if you try and buy anything it's shown as out of stock 🙄 fortunately our local independent farm supplies merchant is open and fully stocked. More expensive than our other independent, Cambers, but they're so bloody rude at Cambers I won't go there again.
