Is my silver pigeon steel proof?

I have a SP 687 - I think it’s about a 2004 model.

It has a 3” chamber but no fleur de lys or whatever it’s called.

I assume it was steep proof but someone else asking recently has made me doubt this.

How do I check?

Also whilst on the topic, how do I check my Remington 11/87 for the same thing? I also assume this was fine and have even fired HP steel through it with no ill effect but can’t find a symbol on it either!!

I love these questions, ayes it's steel shot proofed for standard steel by having a 3" chamber.

For HP steel it's not been tested to the higher proof pressure, so does not carry that pressure or Fleur de lys. America has no proof requirements and have been hanging steel through all guns for years so have the Danes.

I have a Beretta of the same era fixed 1/4 & 1/2 choke, I wouldn't give a seconds thought about using any steel cart that fit the chamber.

Brilliant, thank you :)

My 2004 687 sp4 has had plenty of hp steel through it. It isn't steel proofed. Use yours without fear.

Thanks also :)
