Does anyone bother? Any paints makes / types you could recommend or avoid,(particularly anything shiny) ? I’ve a few wigeon that could do with a touch up. Refuse to take the easy option and buy some new ones but I’m not too convinced even during the daylight that colour makes much difference?

Any tips or suggestions appreciated!

It depends on what sort of wildfowling you do as to if its worth repainting decoys. If you shoot  in the half light of dawn or dusk It will not matter much. On the other hand if you tide flight in broad daylight well painted decoys can make a lot of difference. When Mine start getting a bit tatty I usually repaint both duck and drake decoys  as females , its a lot simpler and buy a few brand new drakes.

I repaint my half shell pigeons with matt paint when they get too scratched or shiny. I use trial pots fro B&Q.

I repaint my half shell crows with matt black, but recently tried some old car underseal I had left over and that seems to be working out fine.

Never repainted full shells as they're flocked, I just give then a wipe over with a wet rag and leave to dry.
