Raja Clavata
Trumpism - a social / political movement based on: a) racism b) religious bigotry c) demeaning attitudes towards women d) attempts to undermine the press e) economic uncertainty f) rejection of scientific findings and g) general expressions of hatred reminiscent of German Socialist Nationalism. It is often characterised by completely baseless, false statements. Source: urban dictionary. Anyone standing up for Trump is standing up for one or more of the above. I know a lot of Americans and not one of them voted for him, but they are all reasonably well educated. Average Americans are stupid, they win out based on numbers and a relatively small proportion who are smart doing the majority of thinking for the rest. Houseplant
Trump's political movement is based on Trump. He will use any of a - g to benefit himself. I wouldn't credit him with any ideology.

No. Average Americans are of average intelligence. The clue is in the term "average".

Yes, average for Americans, by definition. 13 minutes ago, The Heron said: I thought that the candidate with the most money and no moral values became the american president. Not just limited to the US - in Kenya the richest guy in the country is the President, I would imagine the same is true in other African countries. The other parallel to Kenya is the father -> son Presidency chain, you know, keep it in the family and all that.

You would make a good Democrat, tell me again how voter ID laws are racist because getting an ID is to complicated for black people. The truth is African Americans are fleeing the Democratic Party in droves.

You're calling out Americans for being stupid whilst you use The Urban Dictionary as a primary source for defining Trumpism? ". As of 2014, the dictionary had over seven million definitions, while about 2,000 new entries were being added daily. Many definitions, though, are merely jokes or offensive statements." Hmmmm, yeah ok . . .

Thanks, there's a lot of good things I'd make if I wanted to, partly due to the fact that I attained a level of academic achievement which exceeds the norm for someone from my background. But I can only claim part of the credit for that as much of it lies with my parents, bless them. I haven't said voter ID laws are racist but from what I can tell they were introduced by the Trump administration and I'd like to hear a version of logic that suggests it improves the accessibility to vote for minority groups. What I will tell you is that the text of yours I have highlighted above does seem to support point a) from urban dictionary in my earlier post. I'll take your word for it on the attrition from the Democrat Party, are those fleeing joining the Republican Party? If so then Trump will smash the next election and Americans will get exactly what they deserve (which I believe would add further weight to my previous assertion that the average American is not the most enlightened example of our species). Hmmmm, yeah ok . . . Yes, that is a fair point but it was the most readily accessible reference when on my phone late last night. Much of what is written in UB is written in jest, but you know what say about things presented in jest... I used the UB reference as it captured pretty much all of my perceptions of Trump over the last four years, you know, like a self reinforcing bias. I'd happily take reasoned argument against the points raised (maybe try to do a better job than NBI on the racist example though). Similarly on the rather broad brush statement I made about average Americans - happy to be proven wrong and accept it. Raja Clavata
I didn't suggest Americans have a monopoly on stupid, thanks for proving that 🙄 I have neither the time nor inclination to try to school you on even basic concepts like race and I was hoping for an adult debate, which I'm afraid excludes you. oldypigeonpopper
hello, on the BBC news 24 a Chinese spokesperson categorically deny the Corvid epidemic started in the Wuhan lab, he also said a delegation from WHO went to China in January to visit Wuhan/ Beijing and government leaders, yet we have not seen this mentioned ? Hamster
Trump will win again because that’s what the zionists who run US politics want, all in favour of Israel. Their work is well documented and also highly respected, and in this field too. Probably the best in the world, they did all the ground breaking work on SARS and Ebola. I don't believe for one moment it was the source of this infection but its always going to feed the keyboard warriors
