mudpatten
Just an observation. Smocks are notoroius for overheating since you can`t ventilate them adequately. If you buy a smock now you`ll find it very oncomfortable to wear until the weather turns really cold.

Smokersmith
Arktis mammoths are great for winter, and have side zips to ventilate ... but they’re very warm!!

I bought one of these in January and I bloody love it!! They have some good cammo patterns and they are pretty reasonably priced too. Dave at kelton
I have a range of smocks for winter only, two tweed and two Ridgeline. Would not bother in summer just a lightweight inexpensive goretex. Look at Austrian army Goretex online hardwearing, totally waterproof and inexpensive. rimfire4969
I hate taking a smock off when they are wet.
Retsdon
I've never seen the point of a smock. At one time when the only fastening was buttons they probably had a place, but given modern fabrics and how efficient modern zips are I struggle to see the advantage of having a garment that you can't actually open. All weather sailing jackets have zips...... : )
