akka
I have often wondered if anyone had invented a mechanism like this and how it might work. You can pretty much guarantee that whatever quirky and weird firearms related things you might dream up, someone has already thought if it and made one. enfieldspares
Thank you for posting that. I have never seen such a thing. Thank you. In the same sort of device is the automatic loading magazine that could be attached on the side of the action of a Martini Henry in .450/577. https://medium.com/war-is-boring/in-the-1880s-charles-hartson-tried-to-force-a-magazine-onto-a-single-shot-rifle-c1ef7de844f3 Or here at about 10:03 Edited May 9, 2020 by enfieldspares
akka
Thanks for sharing, that's another really interesting mechanism I've not seen before. I'd like to find out more about that 👍.
impala59
Don’t you just love the inventiveness of man and the wonderful mechanical contraptions of the past. I guess the same is happening nowadays in the digital world but it’s all beyond me
Hamster
Brilliant lateral thinking, it’s kinda like a semi auto with one of the barrels being used to house the fresh shells.

Farmboy91
Lovely piece of engineering, I really enjoy looking at things like this and all the odd designs that came out before and round the time of what took off as 'normal'. Thanks for sharing 👍
1066
Just love that - what a time to have been a firearms tinkerer, very few restrictions and a whole new field of development opening up at a rapid pace. How many nights did the designer of this mechanism toss and turn while sorting out the details in his head?
Old farrier
Nice bit of history and very innovative thinking it’s now made it a fac shotgun sadly though thanks for posting
