No doubt Twenty has seen a whole flock of them performing aerial manoeuvres over Minchinhampton Common.

No, sadly I have not seen any in Gloucestershire, but have seen a flock in Menorca,......hope you are lucky enough to get a glimpse.

Found a Sedge warblers nest today.......3 eggs

A pair of Bee eaters nested in Herefordshire in 2005, along the banks of the River Wye, they had hatched their chicks in their river bank nest hole, but were predated by a fox, and the birds left..................RSPB were supposed to be wardening the nest site................well played (not).

I thought they came over every year, didn't know they were rare.

They are from Southern Europe, North Africa and Western Asia.............Occasional birds venture to more north westerly areas, like the UK.

I was lucky enough to see a flock , well about 15 , a couple of days ago in Javea in Spain ....my pal who is a bit of a birder said it’s not that rare occurrence this time of year ...I was still well chuffed ..

Yeah they are a very colourful, (and loud calling) bird aren't they, well worth  seeing .
