Don’t know how far you want to travel but the six mile bottom shoot is great as is the quidenham shoot which is near thetford , both a great day out , plenty shooting and plenty of food and drink but I guess that may be off the menu at present TIL we get the all clear !

I've heard a rumour that there is going to be simulated game days on the Harewood Estate in Yorkshire starting this year.

The rumoured prices are around the £400 mark but will have a high standard of hospitality, and not your average pie and chips in a pub, straw bail shoot.

Sounds like it's worth keeping your eyes open for.

It's run by Joe Neville on Lant Lane Tansley, same family as JF Nevilles gun shop Alfreton.

I have never done one before but told to take 500cartridges.

I was invited to one there. We were told to take 750 ctgs. Most people fired 650. As a non clay shooter I got bored and only fired 375. I did very much enjoy his simulated grouse drive though.

edit: absolutely nothing like a real day’s shooting.

I did one once in Devon where I could feel the heat of the barrels through the forend of my  OU and probably fired over 500, on a real shoot day, say 100-120 birds, I might fire 50 cartridges

If people enjoy it that's fine but as above, it's nothing like a real day's shooting
