What prejudice was that then?

The usual stuff I guess, comments about his colour. Since he had monkey noises and effigies in Spain during his first year of f1, it’s difficult to believe it didn’t happen in earlier years.

Don't you think every professional sports person has faced intimidation from opposition supportera, for that matter, don't you think virtually everyone at some point in their lives have faced some form of bullying, I doubt the person being called fat, skinny, ginger ect feels any better than the person being taunted about their colour. I don't see what makes Lewis Hamilton, or anyone else special in that sense?

I’m not even sure what This is about now but you think calling someone ‘fatty’ is equivalent to racial prejudice then we are not in the same book let alone the same page.

does that not depend  on  the person being  called names . And how it affects  them . How they can end up be scared for life .

This.

Im not saying racist abuse isnt terrible, but there are others that get bullied over weight, looks , personality.
To say that this type of abuse, and discrimination isnt in the same 'book' is in itself , discriminatory .

Tell that to the parents of kids that killed themselves over bullying.

Racism seems to be the watchword of the day, have we forgotton about every other type of discrimination because it doesnt concern race ?

I can well imagine !

My old man said, don’t let any of them pick on you, they will always be in a group, just pick the biggest one and flatten him, the others will back off. Worked every time, but can you imagine being given that same advice today? You would be branded the aggressor every time.

These days you would end up with a bullet or knife in your back.
There are very few fair fights anymore.

And I think the answers you've already received show's how small minded your view is. Racism is disgusting, as are many other forms of abuse. Who are you to tell the victims how offended they should feel?

I’m not but apparently it’s Ok To tell Hamilton he should man up and not be offended.

I never said he shouldn't be offended, just that I don't see that he has faced discrimination or underprivilege worse than anyone else, infact I'd go as far to say he's probably had an easier time than most, but that is pure speculation on my part.

Basically he's a hypocrite, he should stick to what he's good at, winning races.

Whats he actually offended by ?
Was he that discriminated against it stopped him from becoming F1 champion multiple times ?
Did it stop him becoming a multimillionaire ?

I dont seem to remember him being so offended about the whole thing last year, or the year before...

A cynic might think hes just jumping on the latest bandwagon to raise his profile , so he can earn even more money from more sponsors ?
Surely not ?

No doubt hes writing million £ cheques to further black educational projects here there and everywhere no ?

I had a bad start to life, mainly due to my father having psychiatric issues. Not his fault and he ended up spending all of his life from the age of 22 in the care system, initially in what was known as a sanatorium (God - that was a horrible place) and he passed away at the age of 60 in a care in the community "home".

Because of this, I didn't (not couldn't) speak for a number of years and when I did start, I had a very bad speech impediment. This was fine at my initial school however my parents (mum and step-dad at this point) moved to a different area. My life became hell for about 4 years or so. I can remember when I was in senior school my step-dad had enough of it and he told me similar to @London Best dad - just hit them. Turned out I was quite good at it and most of the 'bullying' stopped however I nearly got expelled from school 😳

Roll on a few years, I was at Lime Street about to catch my train back to camp, with my step-dad who said that guy over there is trying to get your attention. It was one of my worst persecutors from that time at school. He was under military escort as he had gone AWOL from the marines and done a stint in the French Foreign Legion but had returned and had given himself up voluntarily. We had a good catch up (after I had flashed my military ID to his escorts) and I heard later that he went into the SBS.

Did I hold any grudges against him because of what he had done in the past - No

Did I demand that he apologize for what he done in the past - No

Life had moved on and it was history (even though at that time it was only about 10 years).

Dunno, no and no. If he chooses to be offended that’s up to him. He also has a right to an opinion, what that opinion is, I’m not sure because I’m not interested so didn’t look it up. All you lot that read it,and decided to deride it, are the ones that elevate it some kind of special status.

And you did decide who should feel offended, when you rubbished that being called fatty is as damaging as a racial slur, it depends entirely on how it made the victim feel, which is a very small minded view.

I take it you are aware it’s possible to lose weight but not so possible to change race.

I wouldnt go as far as that
I just find him an arrogant annoying .... more so when he pontificates about a subject he knows little of.
Im just surprised he isnt regaling us about his 'tough' upbringing on a sink estate, and all the deprivations therein.

It's not as possible as you think for everyone to lose weight,   I could eat food until I'm ready to vomit , but I'm still so hungry that I could cry.

Some fat people can lose weight in the same way that some black people can change race , take a look at the ever changing pictures of Michael Jackson.

Some people find it virtually impossible, although it is of course possible, as is bleaching your skin, but only an idiot would suggest someone should to appease other people, same with someone ginger, should they have to dye their hair to stop people calling them names, the list is endless. My point is, is or was Lewis Hamilton anymore victimised or disadvantaged than anyone else, I would argue no.
