billytheghillie
Yes Ditchy a 4 stoke strimmer, been using them for about 10 years at work. Lighter to handle and runs for ever on a fill, use the right line and you are onto a winner. Edited June 15, 2020 by billytheghillie
oowee
My Stihl has never fed the line properly if at all. Maybe line is too thick and over wound but after a few years I have gotten used to it.
billytheghillie
Forgot to say, we use Oregon Nylium star strimmer line, good stuff.

Mine was the same untill I got the Oregon ( speed cut or quick cut or something) head, just feed the pre cut strips in and it grips them ( bit like a gripple for fencing wire, grips 1 way) Far better Think u get different size heads for differ cc strimers, as u get different diameter line, the heavy stuff is very hard wearing. The 4 stroke strimmers are supposed to be good. https://global.honda/innovation/technology/power/4-stroke-engine-GX-picturebook.html Lot of 4 strokes out there now, both my stihl power heads are 4 stroke. Still use 2 stroke fuel though as no oil sump, so the oil in the mix lubes valves👍
strimmer_13
As my user names suggests, I've used a few but I'm a bit late to the party 😂 Just my say and I've used a few dozen models of every brand, stihl every time. And proper 2 stroke, not those vibrating 4 mix junk, you'll get white finger after a week. Stihl 2.7mm line follow by oragon 2.4. Dont go bigger or you won't get full rpm depending on your unit. Don't do square line, it vibrates, fine if only in the garden but i do 8hr days and my hands are vibratating enough with round.
