I would never ever buy another winchester

I have a FAC SX 3

I was stood with some chaps before a roost shooting foray and the swivel on the end of the gun - holding the sling - dropped out

The gun spun round my arm and landed on the floor

Thanks god it was not loaded - I am very very safety conscious !

I rand Winchester or their UK distributor who I found were rude at best

They had no interest in a potential serious fault

The chap on the phone would not even give his name as he said I would put it on Facebook !!!

It may have been a one off - who knows- but the customer service I experienced was shameful.

If you are looking for a great handling auto - I would highly recommend a Benelli

Mine is a black Eagle and is superb !

I have kept the Winchester to remind me of what shambolic customer service is as motivation - I am in retail - do try my best even with the hardest of customers !

Odd but true !

I had a go with a 20 bore sx4 this weekend, first the cartridge wouldn't stay in the mag , the forend is squashy. The grip has a Winchester sign either side that dug into my palm. I honestly thought I would buy it but after 10 shots or so I put it away and it went back to the gunshop on Monday.

Her old man has the sx3 and it cycles everything and been good so far

I’ve had a shoot with sx4 and it’s felt same as shooting her dads sx3

Thanks for that.

As for my way of thinking SX3 great , SX4 not so good. First day out mate lost his bolt handle, never to be seen again, It started playing up with in weeks on light loads. then broke the piston spring. then it lost its replacement bolt handle.

He took it  back in it got allegedly repaired, it came back bolt handle was tighter to remove, and seemed to be fine, first day into a 5 day trip to inverness, it lost its third handle. Took it into a gunshop up there traded it for a new 3 inch hatsan escort which he still has and its still on its first bolt handle and yet to give one single issue.   SX3 yes but SX4 no ill pass on the SX4.

I have an sx3 and can't fault it I use it and abuse it and it's had one jam in 2 years hard use on the foreshore. When I was looking into buying it or the sx4 I had heard about the sx4 loosing bolt handles for fun then when I went into the gun shop the owner put me off the sx4 so I got the sx3 and so far so good
