Still waiting for the guidelines but our club are scheduling an inter club game on the 11th, a friendly on the 12th, I’m umpiring a league game on the 18th and then playing another friendly on the 19th.

All systems go

We aren't lawn bowling this season. Wouldn't risk playing cricket either, some clubs need the money I understand that.

Cricket is very low risk. Most players are socially distanced during the game anyway.

That looks brilliantly English.

Yes we have a lovely pitch on the village green. Pavilion was rebuilt a couple of years ago and a great pub across the road for ‘afters’. We even have a village pond which the dog retrieves the balls from.

Our club has just had a bit of a nightmare.
received the great news that cricket can start, and we’re looking at a intra club game next Saturday and Sunday. We opened the club yesterday for drinks, and a great time had by all. Then the bombshell today, that one of the barstaff had a random test on Thursday, and found out late last night that the test was positive. Now looks like 30-40 club members will have to isolate for 14 days and the club is now closed for two weeks

Guidelines are out. Most are common sense and expected but some are a bit OTT. Fortunately they won’t affect the game much.

The pitch has to be marked with ‘running lanes’ either side of the wicket to ensure that batsmen remain apart.
The umpires are not to touch the ball at any time.
The bails are only to be touched by the umpires.
the ball must be returned from wicket keeper direct to bowler and not via other fielders.
Ball to be disinfected every 6 overs.
Obviously no sweat or saliva to be used on the ball.

The ICC are allowing sweat. Funny ol' game isn't it?

It's just typical, we finally get test match cricket back and what happens? Sibley's out leaving a straight one and we lose most of the day to rain. Classic English summer really!
