Leisure battery

I think 8 amps but do not overcharge at this. I have read that if you charge at too low a level they will sulphate up. a higher charge clears this but you can overcharge. Far better you buy a dedicated  charger which will charge initially at a high rate, detect the state of the battery and cut back as required to keep it topped up. Not expensive , mine cost me £45.

Mine is an automatic charger so won't overcharge but I just wondered whether to set it to high or low to start with.  Cheers for the info. 8a it is.  👍

I have an 85ah leisure battery. Is it best to charge it at 3a or 8a? (The only 2 settings on my charger.)

I can't believe that either would hurt it as 8A is a 1/10th capacity charge rate - which should be fine.  I would not leave it on 8A for long term (i.e. say more than a day or so).  There is an article here https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/AdvicePdfs/Datasheet-36.pdf

It's not very flat, so should be charged today so I can keep an eye on it. 👍
