Magnet Batteries

Recommended Posts

7Ah = 7 Amps for 1 hour (or 1 Amp for 7 hours)

Typically (I understand) the pigeon magnet will draw 2Amps so a 6Ah battery would last 3 hours from fully charged to fully flat (in a nice linear world) - however voltage will drop as the battery loses charge so a 7Ah battery will probably last 2.5 to 3 hours, a 12Ah battery 4.5 to 5.5 hours and a 17Ah battery 7 to 8 hours (max).

Based on the above and your original question @Boeingman yes, up the Ah.

I'd (personally) avoid a 'lead acid' battery (unless it's "sealed") and go for a Gel or AGM battery. Batteries can lose their ability to hold charge and 'lead acid type batteries' are best left on a low/trickle charge to avoid sulphation (which is what forks them).
