From what they said, its actually illegal to sink them, unfortunately.

A record 202 arrived one day last week.

Do the French fund them to get here, or are we sending cash advances on their handouts for them to buy designer gear, mobile phones, expensive inflatable dingies and £1000  outbomotors?

The French are turning off their transponders, so they cannot be detected as escorting the migrants into British waters.

They then radio the Coastguard to advise. Hundreds a day arrive.

Added to that, 48,000 migrants in hotels across the UK.

Love him or hate him, Farage is covering this, but the mainstream media are not interested, I wonder why.

All part of the Barcelona Agreement.

Time to build a very large holding facility. Preferably on an island off the coast. Do as the Australians did and make sure not a single one of their feet touches mainland soil. Once they realise they won't be accepted into our lovely welfare system they will stop crossing the channel.

Sadly it appears we will have to wait for us to be out of the EU and be able to challenge and change international law until we are able to do anything about it.

If Boris and co want another term they had better take this seriously.

What do we offer the French and other safe countries do not.

I think that may be the answer.

A 90%+ chance of a passport and of course the English language. As English is probably the most taught language in the world we are somewhat victims of our own success.

I reckon a bunch of unmarked UK speedboat owners could get together for a few days trailing huge wakes just off French beaches near overloaded inflatables could soon put a stop to it. The french threaten large fines if anyone breaks the exclusion zone they impose but they'd not be able to see off a bunch of determined day trippers who are not traceable.

As usual its often left to the people to do something before authorities take any notice. They see us rolling over and accepting it so just let it carry on.

So it illegal to sink them but not illegal to help illegal immigrants into the country.

People born bred and worked in this country are going to food banks to be able to eat and our government is paying for hotels and giving them spending money.

It's a disgrace.

We should put them back on board and take them back informing the French to receive them. They will get sick and stop escorting or helping them

Despite being a relatively rich country our pot is not limitless. I am saddened that we are not able to give more effective help to the folk that are already here that really need it due to the dilution of the pot by extremely selfish economic migrants who  do not follow the correct channels for entry. Thinking ahead a little the potential over the next few months is that  we are going to need every penny we can lay our hands on. Put the illegal channel crossers straight back on the next ferry - no ifs no buts. Genuine refugees will register in the first safe country they come to.

After all this time why the EU has not sorted out a simplified refugee system where genuine refugees are spread in equal proportion amongst member countries, whichever safe country they come to first, suggests another agenda to me

Once they claim asylum we are obliged to house them, feed them and give them medical care by law. The problem is the asylum process takes years in Britain no matter how weak their claim.

So the reality is many know they will never get send back.

Malta government appear less tolerant.

The Maltese government said late Thursday that the migrants had been rescued, but did not comment on the accusations of sabotage. The government also warned that, given the coronavirus pandemic, it could no longer guarantee the rescue of migrants at sea.

Annoying when the headline is boats INTERCEPTED, as if they were returned to France.

Should read immigrants picked up and brought to UK. Many of which will be stopping put on benefits and housed.

The French are turning a blind eye and having a laugh.

I suspect that means the migrants will be brought into a naval base where prying eyes don't get to see the numbers.

Most likely the case.

I can't remember the guys name but a Youtuber was arrested for filming the new arrivals.

Stick this in YT if you want to see the clip.

Can't post the video due to very minor swearing. Oh my God he said the "S word"!

There is another problem that nobody is talking about. Lifeboat crews are volunteers who don't get paid. They don't mind getting called out to genuine emergencies but crew members are leaving because they are fed up with getting called out to migrant boats who ring 999 and say they are in trouble
