We just received this email at work - we think that whoever wrote it could have quite a good career as a comedian as it did make us laugh.

Hello xxxxx

I am David Ramsden, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England. I am writing to you about a fixed deposit made by a Late (deceased) customer of my bank who died without any next of kin/heir to the 19.5 Million British Pounds which was deposited with Our bank...I need your cooperation and assistance so the fund can be claimed.

I look forward to your positive reply on this, so we can claim the funds together.  I will further explain in detail as soon as I get your positive response.

Cordial Regards.

You might laugh but it's in 1p coins.

That's 6,949.8 tonnes of 1p coins

Or, to put it another way, a column 2,964km high. lying end to end, they'd almost circumnavigate the globe.

and just under a million litres of 1ps, or 1,689,084 pints.

It's probably time I went to bed...
