Franchi Affinity problem - carrier not releasing/cartridge lever not setting

Hi guys,

got an issue with my Franchi Affinity. Occasionally when I put a cartridge in the chamber the carrier remains locked forward, meaning i am unable to put any in the tube. 

The cartridge drop lever also doesn’t come down. This would suggest that the gun isn’t cocked but I am still able to pull the trigger. The bolt head rotates and seems to be in place.. I have an extended charging handle and a welded carrier but I don’t see why this would make any difference.

Anyone got an ideas or experienced this before?

Try pressing the button on the side of the receiver, if you don`t press it firmly the bolt will lock and what you describe will happen.

Was playing about with it earlier and as it turns out this is exactly what was happening.. don’t know why I’ve noticed it happening more recently. Thanks a lot for the reply 👍
