NoBodyImportant
Laying it bed and the walls started shaking. Pretty cool to experience. The center was about 60 miles away and was between 5-
London Best
Not so cool if your house falls into a big hole under your bed!
AVB
Having lived both in North India and Japan I got quite used to earthquakes. Was quite surprised at the different effect you get with different quakes. Some were the more typical swaying type (like a boat rocking) whilst some were more of a dramatic ‘thud’. WalkedUp
Interesting point. Not quite as globetrotting but I once lived in Manchester, my sister called me as she thought there was a burglar in her house. I went over but nothing, then the next day discovered there had been a minor tremor.
Jaymo
I remember having just agreed the sale on my property near Lincoln back in 2008, the 5.2 magnitude quake centred at Market Rasen All went quiet then the Bed shook, house swayed and I laid there thinking “why did I situate my bed under the chimney stack”. Prior to that, had only experienced some minor tremors.
Benthejockey
There was an earthquake here in Shropshire not that long ago. I assumed it was a clap of thunder but turned out it was an earthquake.
