SBS hammer gun not too expensive

If you've the ability to buy at auction around £500 you are at the Reilly, Lang and similar level. Good makers and in the 19th Century second really to none. For under £100 you are at the Midland Gun and T Wild level good sound pieces. The only thing I'd say is do confine your search to guns with rebounding hammers (and you'll thank me) as non-rebounding hammers are a whole lot of trouble when unloading and potentially dangerous when loading.

Enfield spares, thank you very much for your advice. It's gratefully received.

I meant to mention rebounding triggers in my post and only remembered after. I quite agree, having fired a non rebounding once before I can see how this could unfortunately catch the best of us out in the heat of the moment.

I am able to buy at auction but have no experience of a gun auction...

Thank you very much again,

Kindest James

I have a very nice William Needler of Silver Street in Hull. It is a under leaver Hammer gun 12g with beautiful browned Damascus Barrels. The gun has been nitro proofed about 10 years ago, comes with leather gun slip. However I am asking offers around £1200. If you are interested please PM me and I can send pics.
