Grease or not

I have the toplock done on my side by side a good few weeks ago.  When it came back it was ultra smooth and I could tell it had been oiled up inside.
Of late though I have noticed the safety sticks when the right barrel is selected. If I swap barrel and go back it works ok. Was toying with the idea of taking it apart and if no obvious problems applying some red grease I have for bicycle use ?

Winchester  pigeon  grade

I would add a 'gun' grade grease very sparingly.

Shame that DRI SLIDE is not more easily available.  I am fortunate that I have a can. Dry Moly in suspension in a evaporating carrier. With a needle spout .

Just a touch and you can see the joint "whatever" suck the Moly in. No sticky mess left to attract dirt.
