I am thinking of having our dogs done with the NDTR. National dog tattoo register. Its a bit more difficult to remove an ear tattoo. Costs about £25 per dog or apparently there is a special fee for a litter of pups.

I don't see how they can do that legally, under the law, the dogs are stolen property and therefore the original owners the legal owner, the rspca refusing to give the dog back at that point would to my mind be in possession of stolen property.

I don't either, but apparently the Police can charge you for recovery/storage etc of a stolen vehicle.
