Loving the side by sides compared to my escort semi. Getting the hang of shooting them too. Just don't look at the gun but keep focused on target.
They are a bit addictive

I have from left to right the winchester 23 pigeon which is 3 inch magnum and handles a treat and has been opened up so I whack steel through it.
Just picked a up the Ugartechea/Parker Hale 604 sidelock ejector which sorted out 38 crows a charm at weekend.
Then an Ugartechea which has seen better days but still hits stuff is nice to handle.
Going to be a fun winter and I don't need any more lol

Very nice looking collection and fun to use glad you’re enjoying them

always had a hankering for a Winchester 23 I don’t need any more thought 😗👍

Always room for a Winny 23 I would wack most steel through that ,had 2 of them and would not turn down another at the right price but you never see them reasonably priced any more.

Have first refusal on a 23 Pigeon Grade ( I think ) if and when a fellow in our syndicate ever decides to sell it. He still has the cardboard box it came in!
Very nice collection by the way.

I tend to use my sbs,s most times I go out now especially on pigeon and corvids, they are great fun and put a smile on my face, my small collection consists of

1, E- Anson, 12g boxlock ( obviously) 30" Damascus barrels. 2, Cogswell & Harrison 12g boxlock , 3, Victor Sarasqueta 12g boxlock ,, and 4, Midland gun Company 16g boxlock.

No doubt this won't be the end of my purchases 😁😁

The 604 is very under rated and a good quality gun and the prices sbs can be picked up for just make them even better value

I know one thing I save on cartridges too. With the semi that third cart the majority of the time tends to get wasted with me at least. I do some times fall into trying to aim the sxs and once I do that I miss badly.  At weekend first shot on a crow I aimed and missed realized what I had done and second shot just swung after it and focus on the bird and down he came.

I will never own an O/U. I hate the things. I own eight SxS.
One SxS I won’t be owning is a Winchester Mod 23. They feel like an O/U.
Each to their own.

Why do they feel like a o/u ?? I shot one few seasons ago belonging to a wildfowler it didn’t feel like a o/u to me

Too big, clumsy and heavy. Far too thick in the grip with a horrid beaver tail fore end. Nothing like a proper SxS at all. I agree with Rob85, not for me at all. But, again, each to their own.

Well, you did ask!

Yes I did ask and appreciate your opinion but my AYA NO3 magnum build like Winchester and to me it shoots like a S/S the pistol grip no problem with point ability But do agree with u as well I’m not a fan of o/u I’d have a S/S any day

I really enjoyed using the AYA No 3 I owned for a while, and when I see it on the shoot I sometimes have a pang of regret about selling it. It’s only downside for me was the double triggers, as for one I’ve got to remember it has two, and I was always aware of having to adjust my grip to do it, though I’ve no doubt I’d get used to all this in time.
The 23 has a single trigger but I’m not keen on a vent rib on a sxs, but I do like a pistol grip! 🙂What to do? 🤷‍♂️

I too had an AYA no.3. Mine was a 20 bore and was delightful to use. I have used a no. 3 magnum and that still felt like a proper SXS, despite the pistol grip. But I think a pistol grip is the worse thing you can have with double triggers. I find even a semi pistol grip prevents me sliding my hand that short distance that is essential to use double triggers properly. Strangely, Scully, if I ever use anyone’s gun with a single trigger I never even notice the difference.
