It would be a damn sight less confusing. What is the advertised velocity of these cartridges? What is the maximum velocity of a standard steel cartridge? Imagine if everyone used the CIP criteria for specifying velocity and not just what takes their fancy. Or any other standard for that matter as long as everyone uses it. It's obvious why they don't.
