Where the pigeons are.......

As I`ve travelled around during the last couple of weeks I`ve seen some decent numbers of pigeons feeding ! The common denominator is that they`re on wheat stubbles ,close to housing or other areas with a fair bit of human activity,such as industrial estates etc .Nothing similar seen out in the open countryside!!!!

I think localised shooting pressure has taught them where not to go !!!!!

Wheat stubbles will be left unploughed or cultivated for longer as a means of black grass control if spring barley is to be the following crop.

I agree that pigeons seem to be favouring wheat stubble over other food sources at the moment.
