Bobba
I've lodged this Q with Amazon chat. 48 hrs no reply so I thought I would ask PW members if anyone has used Amazon in other countries and, if so, how it works. Is it that you just join up and send goods within that country? The reason of course is Covid. Normally our son does a visit from Singapore in Nov each year and we visit friends in Germany each Dec. Clearly not a desirable option so we would like to send presents. The Singapore Amazon is in English and you can switch the German website to language of your choice. So using their sites at first glance is to register and proceed as in Uk. But is it that simple and what are the risks, if any. Thanks B. welsh1
As far as i am aware you just log into that countries site with your uk log in details, don't forget to change your delivery address if sending stuff somewhere else
figgy
Just put their address in for delivery and let Amazon sort out where it's dispatched from.
ph5172
I have used amazon .de and .com with no issues. you just have to make sure they will ship internationally - it usually picks this up by your address. I can’t recall but I think I had to set up a US profile but for Germany definitely not.
mick miller
I've ordered from Amazon.de before, specifically an air fryer that was nearly £60 cheaper from Germany than it would have been in the UK. It shipped from Scotland.
smokingdragon
Use a fee free card such as Starling bank or Revolut so no exchange fees
discobob
you will generally find that warranty issues will be dealt with by Amazon UK as well
