That is precisely the weight of my SxS 12 bore.

But I still often take a 5lbs 10ozs 20 bore on walked up days!

I shall leave you to guess the make of my S x S   !     😉

Never used one in anger, just the odd pair as a loader. They are nice.

I have shot one of their 20 bore O/U guns, just superb  !  Nearly as good as my 20 bore Geezer Cerini thing  !

I will never own an O/U, especially one made by Dago Upsidedowno, but I would perhaps make an exception for a Boss, or a Mackay Brown. Or a Purdey or Holland, obviously.

Although the Woodward could also be on the list 🤔?

nice mixed bag and pictures very nice gun 😊👍

I had the chance to handle the last true (pre-Purdey's acquisition in 1948) Woodward made O/U when it was listed for sale by one of long established gunshops in the East of England. I have to say that it didn't float my boat" at all. It had no liveliness about it. And for that revelation I am glad that I did have the chance to handle it. Sometimes the anticipation can be better than the actuality.

That’s always the way with the anticipation

ive handled and shot a few some have been good and some not so but it’s the way with most guns

The second best gun I ever had in my hands was my own Woodward, sadly now long gone. The very best was a Boss over and under which I shot with on one drive. It gave an unusual feeling of invincibility.
