Having a go at repairing the mower

I did the last cut of the lawn the other day so I decided to find out what was failing with the rear rollers, after stripping it down I found the lugs that engage in the middle of the roller had worn away. To buy all new parts is not viable so I decided to see if I could weld some new lugs on.

Having done that they almost fit together just need a little bit of filing.

Dont know why they didn't come out in order, but if it all goes back together it will last a few more years hopefully.

Another mower victim, the deck on mine had rotted out pretty bad this year and split behind the front wheels just after my 2nd last cut. so much so that it flexed so much the blade hit the sides. As the engine and everything else is good I just welded in new metal, I know a lot of people who scrap stuff at the first sign of bother as is the norm with today's throwaway society.

Why spend over 100quid for a new one when a couple of afternoons with scrap steel and a scrappy welder can get things going again!
