Paint / Varnish remover

Recommended Posts

try Rustins ...its just as bad.......it does work eventually....cover it with the gunk and wrap it in clingfilm ...leave it for 40mins...and brush it off with a stiff plastic bristle scrub brush..........repeat maybe 3 times and wash in warm soapy water..........then put it somewhere to TOTALLY dry out....before you start to lightly sand it down....

regards the chequering....use a soft bronze wire brush....dont use it like a scrub brush.....gently sweep the gunk one way...

Looking for a recommendation for a varnish remover for a shotgun stock.

I used Nitromors years ago but most reviews now seem to suggest it has changed in quality for the worse.

I found the Niel ?? (own brand ) from B&Q was better than most. I need to strip some varnish from inside my boat, this was about £25 for 5lts. Its a milky product unlike conventional nitromores & really doesnt need to be "wrapped" to keep it working. I was quite impressed with it
