rayo
Morning folks Thinking of upgrading from my Hawke 3x9x50 to a MTC viper 3x18x50 or a Sidewinder 4x16x50. It would be going on Hw100 Any thoughts /advice would be great fully received Thanks In advance 👍
Walker570
I have the Hawke Sidewinder and cannot fault it and tree rats keep falling over dead. Do not know anyhting about the MTC. The one thing I have done on all of my variables is fit one of those straps onto the adjustment screw which makes moving the adjustment so much easier in a hurry. turbo33
I've had both. Both really good scopes. I found the Sidewinder reticle just too fine for me and the Viper far superior. Of all the lower end scopes I've had, I personally prefer the MTC scopes and the turret arrangement. Those sizes of your choice are quiet weighty, as I found. I have the 4-16x50 Viper on my 223, and can pop squirrels at 250+ yards. I opted for something a little smaller on the Fac Airwolf, and bought an Optisan EVX. 4-16x44i. Just that bit smaller over the 50, and really good optics. Its millrad over MOA which is a good facility. I found the HW100 a fantastic rifle, but am weight averse these days😂 Good luck, hope this info is useful.
Ultrastu
You can get the sidewinder with the Sr pro ret. Or the newer srpro 2 (very little difference ) Or if your really lucky and find an older model with the Sr 6 ret which in 4 -16 x is the best airgun ret ever made . Mtc is just a mildot variant .ho hum .

steve_b_wales
I've got a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x50 IR on my .308. In fact, most of my rifles have Hawke scopes on them. Lifetime/no fault guarantee and fantastic aftersales service.
Salop Matt
Hawke Sidewinder SR Pro here also on a HW100kt. Love it especially the ret, I used to be into MTC but moved to Hawke and it would take a lot to get me away from them now.
wymberley
For the HW100 would the Hawke Airmax 30SF 4-16x50 AMX IR be another option?

Many thanks to Walker 570 If anyone else is suffering as I now am, these are: Breakaway Black Nylon Coaster Clips which are available from either of the two usual suspects
