Rfd fees

It costs £25 give or take for the postage plus usually some packing materials of a quid or 2.

So up to £30 cost before charging anything for the time taken to check, register, pack, book delivery etc.

I think £20 for that service is reasonable considering that you have to be there in the first place and everything that involves.

There is no direct cost in receiving a gun but as above you have to be there paying your rent etc so £25 to accept the delivery, register the gun and do the handover seems reasonable.

Of course what you are actually charged depends on many factors such as whether the receiving RFD could have supplied that same gun, whether you are a regular, whether the sender is actually the seller (in which case the postage fee is often covered in the sale price) and how the transfer is arranged.

I had a gun turn up last week with no notification and had not been asked.

When the buyer contacted me and discovered that there would be a £25 charge for a £45 air pistol he changed his mind and it's still sat at my shop waiting for the sending RFD to arrange collection!
