Steel shot sizes

Recommended Posts

From my experience with any cartridges it is safe to assume everything on the box is made up apart from many should be in the box although sometime they can miss one out  as well

Look on the Hull web site ( not picking on them they will give you the info)  steel 3 shot can be either 3.25mm or 3.6mm also 3.25mm can be 4 shot if they want it to be at least they put the info out there which not all do

The only way to know for sure is to pull one to bits and get counting

RC cartridges list steel 3 shot as 3.3mm

Game bore 3.5 mm

Claygame reloading 3.56mm / .14 inches or 158 per ounce

The American size 3  is .14 at. 163 pellets per ounce

so clear as mud

So the answer to you question is everything is different  apart from when they are the same -sometimes -but not always-  about as easy to understand as the current covid restrictions

I also found the pinned info on shot sizes not a lot of help, but never expect to get the shot size printed on the box unless it is in mm which is more difficult to lie about.

The best way is to load your own then you will get what you want
