Hi guys just want to say nice forum you have here

Need some help please if you can, and have the time please

Ok here goes

I'm waiting on my shotgun licence, but i had a letter saying dew to the current virus, they are not allowed to visit to talk about the gun safe etc with me

Been waiting ages (form / gp all done just waiting on the police (lancs)

So i thought wile i'm waiting can i still buy a shotgun from my local gun club and keep it at my gun club ?

If yes, would you think there is a fee to keep it there or would that be free ?

And the main point really, if i did buy a shotgun would i still need a instructor with me wile we shoot ? as this is where the cost is

About myself, been shooting on and off for a few years now and since the kids are about to leave school soon, they are safe to leave home wile me and the wife can get back to what we love, hence after so long decided to go for the licence

Thanks for you time

Welcome to Pigeon Watch.

Not sure many places will sell you a gun without a SGC.

You will just have to wait for your SGC but in the mean time see if any of your local clubs have loan guns and what they will want from you to have access to one.

I strongly suspect you would have to have several lessons at a ground before they get to know you and trust you.

good luck

Its my belief you can pay a deposit on a gun, but to own one without a SGC would put you and the seller outside the law.

As for shooting, I'm sure you need to be accompanied by a holder of a SGC to shoot otherwise again  wrong side of the law.

A holder of a SGC does not need to be an instructor or coach but must be with you.

Sorry to be negative, but you don't want to loose your licence before you have it.
