They appear pretty clever birds and like magpies/jackdaws may have the intelligence to climb out or even not to get caught initially.

Good point.

I thought with them being so gregarious they might be trappable but I bet you are right.

I've never even seen one.

As said earlier I had a friend down in South London who used to go down into kent 30yrs ago to shoot them in the orchards down there where they were doing untold damage worse than bullfinches which can soon strip a tree of fruit buds.  He said they where smart birds and learned very quickly.

If it was possible to trap them , would they have a resale value ?.

As an invasive species you would not ne allowed by law to release them and would have to despatch them.

Not much meat on one!

I didn't mean to release them dave . I was thinking sell them to be kept in aviaries.  I know that birds are quite expensive,  and selling  them might offset the time and trouble of trapping them.

The trouble is they are that noisy people will just let them go again!

Many years ago, probably talking 30 odd years now, whilst working in Kirkby Stephen I saw some exotic looking birds which I believe were escaped parrots, Scully may know better as near his area.

Yes, they are still there. I last saw them in the car park behind the livestock auction.

Don't think you can sell them as they wont have rings on there legs being wild. Also I doubt they will become tame and can have a nasty bite.

dougy loads near me... I see them on park behind my house and in the oak tree's out my front.

you know when they are there as my parrot Merlin starts calling them out the window, He also tell you when the postman's coming or a neighbor.
