In the cupboard

We've slowly been going through stuff , just been through the old mans cupboard, found these, some classic stuff & pictures in them , the wildfowling one is a 1911 edition...other magazine mainly about the dee in 1955 , shows the area that could be shot then ! All the boys outside the pub in mostyn on the annual pigeon shoots etc ....

Thank you , other books there too , will be kept , had to chuckle, good morning, a bag of gulls & curlew amongst other stuff ! Punt stuff interesting, remember in the 70's old man had one , other bits I found, will need a bit of reading is a lot of loose paperwork on browning solution recipes !

In one of my books , I think it is Wildfowlers and Poachers , it mention that when things were hard around these parts it was known that one or two gulls were mixed with a bit of belly pork and made into sausages , this was back in the 1920s , although going by the taste of some of todays sausages it could have well been published last week :lol:

Friend of mine was vilified in local press a few years back ... she was an environmental officer for local council and got a special licence to control the gulls around the local tip..... it was not reapplied for
