Havnt really made a stick in a bit , but here goes it's a black buffalo top , fitted with a thin 2mm brass spacer for aesthetics, on a stripped chestnut shank , after stripping, given a wipe of teak spirit dye , just enough colour, it didn't quite start off looking like the finished article but changed as it went , one picture shows the spacer , glued up , angle cut on the bandsaw , as was the buffalo spacer & brass , to glue up securely, cut a piece of scrap chestnut , drilled the centre, then cut the same angle, so when screwd up applied even pressure across the joint , if that helps anyone!

Top Job! Haven't made a stick for a while now. Might do one in Buffalo. Antler looks good but when there is brass involved the polishing really drags out as the black dirt that comes off the brass gets everywhere on the antler and its a job and half to get rid of afterward, Especially gets into what looks like micro cracks in the antler itself. really ruins the finish. Acetone comes in handy gets rid of some of it but when you have that antler shining white and then you hit the brass and its game over.

Honestly, if you follow a process ,its pretty straight forward, know what you mean about the brass , not something I do a lot of , also tried stainless & aluminium, brass looks the best , I've just cut & glued pieces up to make some laminate! See if that works !
