wymberley
Just got a new computer and am unable to update my Sierra Infinity Suite any more from the Windows 7 - new one is 10. The appropriate Suite is on order, but meanwhile could anyone with the Subject programme kindly spit out the velocity at 50 yards for TSS 18g for sizes 7,8 and 9 with a muzzle velocity (V0) of 1500? Salopian
Bullet225ho, A very warm welcome. Would you have the same information for steel please?

I've now had chance to look at these and they do beg a further question as the Sierra Suite has arrived and I'm getting a consistently differing answer. I'm sorry about this, but could you possibly also do the same for lead in the same sizes? If you refer to the second topic down in this Bullets, Cartridges, etc, sub forum you can see that I've picked sizes with an apparent USA equivalent. However, it matters not if they do not coincide if you have have the actual diameter. Just so we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, I would have also asked Salopian's question but he beat me to it, so the diameter for the steel would also be good because of the intercontinental variations. Thank you for your help, it really is appreciated.
bullet225ho
This data is per KPY and using USA sizes from what I know. #7 is .2.54mm (.100inch) #8 is 2.286 (.090inch) #9 is 2.032 (.080inch) I can change the input data to match whatever number you like? Here in the UK those equate to 6, 7&1/2 and 9 for lead and which will do nicely for me. Again looking for the 1500 ftsec muzzle and 50 yard range. Once again, many thanks, will explain when things make sense.
bullet225ho
Your looking for muzzle velocity at the muzzle to give you 1500fps at 50yds? The numbers I gave started out at 1500fps. Edited February 4, 2021 by bullet225ho

wymberley
Once again, thank you very much indeed. I don't/won't use NTS as I only shoot vermin and where I do there's no standing water. However my step-son is going to have to sooner or later so I ran the figures for TSS on the Sierra Infinity Suite - I've used this forever as I also shoot rifle and this does the lot. The only weak link is me as you have to input the BC which I've been known to mess up on occasion. I thought I'd run a confidence check so hence the request for the KPY information. This reflected a consistent 6% low set of readings from Infinity. Then, running the lead and steel figures with the corrected environmental input which you kindly once again provided, the two programmes were in perfect agreement. I've double checked my BC figures and they're correct as calculated from the Max Carbide TSS specification web-site. For these I used the standard environmental conditions when I ran the programme. As Infinity appears to be running true, I'm going to assume that the input for the TSS BC in the KPY is a little different from that which I calculated and as this errs on the side of caution in the Infinity, then so be it he can live with a small error on the safe side.
