Aye, things are warming up. The wheatears are turning up now and the flocks of sand martins are getting bigger. No sign of any house martins yet  though

Plenty of Sand Martins, but no House Martins yet,

Good win for Gloucester last night against a reduced level Exeter.....and a bonus point.

The swallows that normally clean out the nest above my neighbours back door are in for a shock as Mrs Jenny Wren has taken up residence and packed it full of moss in a big ball. It is undercover and a perfect place.  The almost tame blackbird which comes to our back door every morning for a few currants has set up in our evergreen clematis in the yard.   She raised a couple of broods last year in the ivy on the stable wall but this has now been removed. We are pleased she has found a new location. Spring is sprung.

Plenty of large Bumble bees around NW Sheffield and parts of N Derbyshire.

I was seeing bumblebees a couple of weeks ago, and saw a butterfly in the garden today, no idea which one, orange and brown of which there are loads.
