A good post unlike some on here who have used the occasion to slate landrovers.

I don't think anyone slated landrovers, I've owned landrovers for years and would never be without at least one defender, but your not buying trouble free motoring and that's a fact.

I watched the ceremony on and off and thought all went well for all concerned - to be honest, I can't remember when I've been more proud of having been a British serviceman - just a shame now about the 'rest on your arms reversed' - until we got to the stupid woman right at the end of the actual funeral programme. All week we've been told that HRH organised this - if not actually all of the nitty gritty but he certainly made his wishes clear. Then in the final wrap, the well known news reader asked two media event specialists what they thought about his 'legacy'. Sensible, considered answer from the chap, but the imbecile woman said that she thought that he wouldn't have wanted all the fuss. Don't quite know where she's been all week.

With the death of Prince Philip  a true countryman will the royal estates have a shooting future ?

I think so; Charles, Andrew, William (and I think Kate), Peter Phillips all shoot - and I'm guessing Edward does as well.  HM the Queen was known to enjoy picking up.
