Vince - we already pay. If they go it alone, the rest of the UK would be better off financially. What bothers me is when rabble rousers like Wee Jimmy continually lie to the Scots about what a wealthy country it is and how they will be so much better off. They would have no Barnett subsidy, no membership of the EU for quite a long time (If Spain ever relented) and have to join the Euro. They would then be very bit part players in the EU. By then Wee Jimmy will be pensioned off and be unaffected by the destruction the SNP have left behind.

Because a vote for SNP is a vote to try Independence and the chance to get a different party in later with different views on Europe. Maybe its the lesser of two evils 😁

Not strictly true, NS moved the goalposts by saying that if enough pro Indy MSP's are voted in then that is a new mandate for an independence vote, so she is jumping into bed with the greens and Salmond's Alba party 🤮

So whenever there is a possibility of pushing for independence, the SNP change tack and the country gets stuffed, hence education, drug problems etc get worse as they are concentrated on independence!

University education is nothing to be proud of as the unis prefer foreign students as they can charge more, so less places for local students.

This isn't going to go away .I am sick of hearing all this. I am sick of seeing that arrogant little bint wee Jimmy strutting around.

Stop the barnet formula immediately. Stop any further investment immediately. Incentive all the industry that you can to move to England.

Bite the bullet, build a border and let them get on with it. Then forget about the lot of them.

Exactly .

Most have had a bellyfull of all this tosh .

Have the vote , build a wall , get your popcorn and watch it all go down the pan !

Whatever happens it'll be the English at fault .

The terms they are demanding will cost us a whole lot more

The point is. Give the spoilt little brats their independence, BUT ON OUR TERMS.

if what is best for the UK is harmful for Scotland, then hard luck !

No quarter asked,no quarter given must be the philosophy

If it ever comes to a vote and they gain independence, I don't think they will be in any position to demand.

I sincerely hope it doesn't happen.

One big bonus of a Scottish independence must not be over looked. The vast majority of those SNP seats are historic labour. If SNP go into decline they could easily revert back.

We all now labour appears to be a badly wounding animal in need of urgent attention to survive. However without Scotland, there is no way back and it's like a bullet to their socialist head.

Good result

Just thought of a further bonus. All that cross channel tourism via dinghy that the French are so happy to encourage may have a solution. The SNP are champions of immigration and multi nationalism. Collect the passengers from their dinghy and bus the passengers over the border into bonny Scotland. I am sure they will be more than happy to accept them .

The more I think about Scottish independence, the more benefits I can see. BRING IT ON 😁👍

But then they have set up their excuses ready for when it all goes wrong "its not our fault" and  "we were shafted"

I bet they are rehearsing it already

Hey hang on , the majority  of us here in Scotland  did not vote for independence last time . Why should we suffer , I dont honestly  belive all those who vote for the SNP party  wish for independence  ,to many I guess its a protest  vote against both Labour  and the Conservative Party,  Scotland  should not be given  another independence  vote , because  I believe  it will be the same result  as last time.  Then they will want another and another , all this time the country is going down the pan , what the answer is I don't realy no . Perhaps  the only answer  is to close down Holyrood , as it not working .

Well the Scottish Border voters flung it back in her face, which it seems reading some sites has upset a lot of the gullible.   Personally  I have always felt more akin to my Northumberland neighbours and friends than with Scots from the Central Belt.  Many around here live in Scotland and work in England and vice-versa  in fact our main town Berwick on Tweed is Northumbrian and English, where lots of us turn to not only for work but it is the main shopping centre for lots of us.  The idea to leave a union , with a shared language and good trade relations to fall under the undemocratic boot of the EU can only be described as insane.

All very interesting as an Englishman moved to Scotland at my own volition and paying extra tax for the privilege. One point has not been mentioned as the stats are not yet available and does not follow the winning of seats by any particular party.

How many people voted? Of these how many people voted SNP or Green? That surely is the only barometer of what an Indy vote or support looks like.

Never understood why they did it in the first place. We don't have an England only Parliament and the tradition that Scottish MPs would stay out of votes, only concerning England, was not honoured. These assemblies - Holyrood, Welsh Assembly etc serve no genuine purpose. They are merely another level of bureaucracy that we don't need. Millions and millions of taxpayers money straight down the drain.

That is the problem, both this thread and the indy ref are that the vociferous minority are making the most noise, this forces people to react otherwise few would have an opinion.

I would feel very sad to see the Scots vote to go independent, but if that's what they want I believe they should be aloud to go and helped in any way we can, providing its not at the detriment of the rest of the UK.

Well - the breaking news on the BEEB is that it looks like Wee Nippy's Marxist rabble is to lose their majority in Holyrood..!
Maybe now they will crawl back under the nearest rock and go away for good - a long overdue state of affairs.

Glad I could vote in the Independence referendum back when it was held - and it did not take Wee Nippy's lot long to reverse their sound-bites of the losing night, that this was a once in a generation vote; maybe 48 hours or so later they were banging on about a 2nd Referendum "fae thae peeple..."
I've too many mates from my long years in Scotland to want them stuck in an SNP run state, with rocketing inflation rates that would make a south American banana republic look like a safe investment.

Salmond & Sturgeon are cut from the same **** smelling cloth & I'd trust them as far as they trust each other!

IF Scotland did become Independent it would be a complete disaster, even IF they got automatic EU membership...which is almost a guaranteed "no hopes, ever"
A hard border with England would be a necessity - and would kill off a lot of trade with their nearest neighbour.
I'm predicting some Monopoly money style currency tied to the market price of shortbread & Harris tweed, backed up by the revenue tied up in Salmonds wine cellar.

Wonder what spin Nippy puts on this new change to her attempted power grab?
Glad we'll not be seeing her face on some new Scottish bank notes; but I'd pay good money to see it on a special edition of triple ply Andrex...

Because everytime we switch on the news all we see is that arrogant little bint strutting around and spouting her hatred about everything English. Fed up about listening about moaning Scots acting like over indulged little children.

As for those who want to stay. You have my sympathy , but you must stop sitting back ,stand up and put up a fight. From what I see she is walking all over you and you are just sat back and accepting it.

I totally get your frustrations, as NS seems to stick the boot in wherever she can South of the border but I think we should as a nation including the Scottish whether they're for leave or remain need to rise above petty bickering (I'm not saying you are either), the average Scott who voted remain have done all they really can, which is to place their X in the box, thereby voicing their democratic choice.
