in case you don’t know. Cannot find this before on PW . Apologies if a repeat

WhatsApp has changed its group settings to include “everyone” by default so people you don’t know can add you to a group without your knowing.  These people may include scam messages, loan Sharks, etc. You can change its default settings as follows:

1. Go to WhatsApp:
2. Go into Settings
3. Go to Account
4. Go to Privacy
5.  Go to Groups
6.  Change from (Everyone) to (My Contacts)

Is recommended changing to Signal as an alternative; the incoming change of terms dis it for. Was always going to be the case when it was sold to facebook

Werent the change of terms only for the US and not Europe or has it now changed?

It’s definitely happened to all the folk I know in the UK who use it.

He's talking about the change in the T&Cs that got everybody so aeriated a couple of months back, not the Whatsapp group setting.

The former didn't apply to the UK, I honestly can't see the problem with the latter.  Any bad actors already have your number, just block them.

I meant the privacy terms as signal was mentioned, the signal hype was due to the privacy setting, not the group adding.
