IF you have a "non compliant" older engine you could be paying up to  £40 per day for the "privilege"

Important to check especially if you are contemplating changing your vehicle

I haven't been into London in a private vehicle since around 1975.

Last went through on foot in 77.

Been in various lorries since but it's not a place i would knowingly frequent. I don't like crowds and built up areas. I've not even been into my own city centre since 98.

The thought of it brings me out in a cold sweat.

i know im a bit thick but does that mean if i go down thew a1 to heathrow via the north circ i have to pay a surcharge

AFAIK using the N/S circular is OK but venture in towards London be aware

Yes but you would have no reason to do so because the quickest way is round the M25

yes i was getting mixed up with the two

They have just billed our lorry for a few days at the non compliant rate and that would make you sweat..... they have repaid it once they realised their error

You're not thick. Basically it means that if you pay the levy it doesn't matter if your vehicle meets emissions spec' and the polar bears will be ok. 🙂
