Having had a mornings fishing at Cley we decided to get fish and chips at Wells!

I paid the £5.00 to park on the quay but have just received a £100 pcn for the privilege too!

Now fortunately I kept the ticket however it has the wrong date on it!!
it is dated 15/5 not 14/5 as the pcn shows (I was there on the 14/5)

Question is how do I fight it?

Cheers

ps the fishing was poor!!

I'd write and explain and let them do the work. Is it a ticket for the council or a private company?

Sorry to hear about your parking ticket , fishing might have been poor but I bet you enjoyed your fish and chips while sitting on the quay .

I used to go there a lot on my bus pass , a nice walk down to the life boat shed , then along the beach towards Holkham , up Lady Ann's Drive and then walk back to Wells for my fish and chips , a lovely day out.

PS Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction .

Why was the wrong date on your ticket?

Can you go back and see if the machine is wrong?

This is the ticket. I’m not sure it is out of date or if it shows the expiration time/date?
It’s a pretty poor ticket, no details of operator etc?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but if you paid £5 on 14/05/21 is that for 24 hours until the 15/05/21?

If so you are in the clear, or have I got it totally wrong? That's how I read the ticket anyway 🤔

No it doesn't seem to make sense to send to a pcn when you have paid 🤔

Let us know what they say 👍

They normally claim they couldn't see the ticket. I thought they normally photo your car dashboard to show you were not displaying a valid parking ticket. Did they send anything with the PCN?

I used the info here https://www.popla.co.uk/

Had a ticket because I put the wrong registration into the parking machine, fought it as the carpark signs didn't say the reg had to be of the car i was in!! I won.

Had a ticket for not displaying the ticket, it had blown off the dashboard onto the seat and was upside-down, I appealed as it didn't state on the carpark signage where to display the ticket and which way up, I won.

I could go on but essentially its down to the signage in the carpark and the popla rules, ask for the photos.

Should be easy to appeal as the photo/ticket will be dated the 14th and your parking ticket is the 15th, unless you have a time machine 😆

What is the stated offence?

Ive had 7 tickets and never paid one, good luck

The ticket to me suggests you parked at 13:01 on the 14th and the ticket expired at the end of the day of the 14th, hence why it reflects the start of the 15th 00:00.  It isn't a 24 hour ticket, rather it relates to the day of parking.

is that when you parked?

Yep that’s it!

The system is designed to scare you into paying.

£100 fine but only £60 if you pay within a week!
If you appeal you loose the discount payment option.
In the appeal process you have one chance to provide information and evidence no further evidence will be taken into consideration.
Once you go through their website making the appeal there is no confirmation that you have done so or that they have received it.

Reduced to £20 as it didn’t have my registration details!!!
How come you can get a ticket without details????
I’m giving up as the next stage will be back to £100 and potential court date. I turn up, they don’t, costs me a day off plus travel and I eventually still lose!!
