Cuckoos heading back.

It's hard to believe, but two recently tagged Cuckoos at Loch Katrine, and Loch Arklet in Perthshire, have left our shores and are on their way back to Africa.

One was recorded in Northern France, and the other in the Netherlands on their Southerly migration.

The tagged Cuckoo from Loch Arklet in Perthshire, that left our shores on June 12th, has now crossed the Sahara, and its latest location is northern Nigeria, 3,685 miles from its departure site.

That is amazing 👏

I heard a cuckoo a few times in May and early June but not after then.
