GBS Posted June 21, 2021 Report Share Posted June 21, 2021 I have borrowed an auto clay trap but there is a catch - we couldn't find the clay release controller! I need to find a new male connector and then attach this to either a wireless or wired switch system. It has a four pin connector, does anyone know the correct part name for this or is it specific to the trap maker (Laporte i think) so I can buy the part? Been a while since I worked with Hartings connectors, but if you take apart the mating half on the trap, you should find p/ns moulded onto the internals, which you can google, and you should be able to figure the corresponding male/female connector from the datasheets. Harting do make a connector of the same pattern as this but it appears, when dismantled, that this one is from ILME. CEF have this for a whopping £2.80 (one clay trap firm is offering them for $25!!) Once I have a new connection does anyone know how straightforward it is to wire in a new push button control? Is it a case of buying a three port, momentary push button and wiring it to the connector? RS Stock No 171-5720. Brand RS PRO Cable gland. RS Stock No 444-2622. Part No 53015020. For cable / button release. Connect two core cable to pins one and three.
