Mo Farah - World Class dope?

Mo Farah … gone from a World Champion, to unable to even qualify for the competition.

Recently split from his long term training coach… who was banned for blood doping …

Isn’t it about time they all just came out and admitted they’re all taking PED’s? 🤷‍♂️

He's out of form, out of fitness and out of time. This was always going to happen. After Rio, he made a full tilt bid at becoming a marathon specialist, but it was clear he wasn't in the same league as a lot of the true elites, making getting even a podium a distant prospect. But the complete change in training and competition at marathon level's cost him big time. He's just not been able to drop back down to track running 10k, especially at the age of 38. Niggly injuries take longer to heal and have a bigger impact and he's had a few of them since he started to go back to the track. Nothing to do with drugs, he's just not the track runner he once was.

Most sports are doping to some degree or other, the problem the athletes face is if they won't do it, someone below them will be prepared to, giving them an advantage and putting them in front, at the top level of sport, the winner is often only separated from the looser by tiny gains.

😛my instinct was proven correct when it was revealed he's a Gooner, but nobody is perfect...

Didn’t realise he was vegan! That explains it then. 🙂

There you go then, that explains it all. If only he supported the mags and had a decent bacon sarnie he might have made the qualifying time.

Can a bonafide Mag also be a vegan?

40years ago I would have walked any of you into the ground regardless of terrain but unfortunately we all get older and have to realise we can no longer compete.

Gotta love comments like this 🙂

Everybody in sport has to recognise when the time has come to call it a day. I think Stanley Matthews was still playing top level football in his 40s but he was exceptional.

You have to know when to go, and then go gracefully

Maybe he should sit down with Andy Murray and Harry Kane and compare notes

It must be difficult for sportspeople (note woke influence 🙂 ) ,to accept that their exceptional abilities are waning.
Mo has had a good run , pun intended, but it is time to come away from serious competition, before he damages his reputation.
Despite rumour and insinuation, I don't think he has ever knowingly cheated in any way.

I agree. Even if he hadn't spent four years away from the track trying to do marathons, I don't think he'd have been in good enough shape to win in Tokyo. Maybe if it had been last year, maybe if he'd had a full training programme but otherwise there are just too many hungry lions in the prime of their racing for him to be able to win. Sad to see, but I'm sure he'll end up commentating, or coaching or just advertising fake meat!
