OP I would of deffo made a full complaint and showed plod the bolts .... one of them may of well ended someones life or seriously injured them ...

Nobodyimportant .. do you want a live in assistant I clean guns very good handy around vehicles being a retired mot tester/mechanic and not too bad at joinery

The main reason I didn't go the full complaint route was because of the long term impact it would have had. With my father now being somewhat part of that family....his mental instability plus that families reputation for taking revenge would have quite possibly led down the road of intentionally putting my wife and children's safety at risk.

If I could afford to move house I would. Perhaps with their landlord being called on by the police as well there is a chance they could be moving I suppose 🤔

Edit... just to say I did offer plod the evidence, I have them in a sealed bag if they ever decide they want to take more action

Taking all that into consideration you probably have gone down the right road..

But imo unfortunately by "letting them off " to speak is how the people you describe obtain their noteariatry / reputation

Be safe and do what you feel is best in your situation.

It’s a good place to retire.  Liberals spend their whole lives to save up enough money to flee the liberal areas and move to Republican paradises.  Unfortunately they vote for the same hightaxes and overbearing government they fled from.

Every time someone complains about their neighbors I think of mine. My neighbor won a $100,000 scratch off ticket.  Bought a Asian lady, a dirt bike and a helicopter. He set in it watching YouTube videos on how to fly helicopters.  Then got about tree top level, rolled upside down and imbedded a piece of helicopter rotor into my siding.

That's the funniest thing I've read in a while! Notwithstanding damage to your property of course.

Never fathomed why crossbows are even a thing, obviously everything is dangerous in the wrong hands but Joe public really shouldn’t be able to buy them!
mom guessing you’re not wanting the confrontation of mentioning it to them yourself, but to be honest that sounds downright dangerous and could have much more serious consequences in the future if they carry on.
Neighbours/family eh 🙄

When others take your attitude against any guns you may have, maybe you will think again?

It's not the tool, always the fool?

I'm with GC on this one.

A few. Years back my next door neighbour who is a horsey man had 2 of his horses out in a field during a good weather spell . When he went to bring them in for the night at around 7pm (he had been to check in them 2 or 3 times through out the day ) both of them had crossbow bolts sticking out of them one had 1 the other had 2 .

Emergency call out vet then off to an equine specialist surgery . Both animals survived but it cost him a small fortune in fees .

Luckily the "horsey community " helped by sending him money & donations .

It took the police about 3 months but they did catch the moron responsible for it .

He had a collection of crossbows ,swords , rambo knives bought off the net .

As for WHY he did it when in court his reply was "I wanted to see how powerful it was .

He got 3 months jail

Of course it’s who gets hold of them that are the problem!
Had guns all my life but don’t see what crossbows have to offer really, never come across any proper target clubs etc for them although I could be wrong!?
I don’t see why they couldn’t be licensed as shotguns are though, so they’re not so readily accessible was my point mainly.
For a start there are nowhere near the amount of mindless accidents/shooting of cats and swans etc with shotguns, because they’re not as easy to obtain as a legal limit air rifles!

This reminds me when I managed the Warranty Returns Centre at Cowley for Rover Group. We had “A” series engines returned and one operative asked if he could have twenty pushrods for a project. I was later informed that he had “ Traveller” heritage and he used them with a crossbow for poaching deer!!!!!

Your right but I love my area.  When my investments started paying off, and my wife got out of college and went to work we moved into a huge house in the city.  Real upper class and very liberal.  Everyone was looking for a reason to call the police on you.  But this neighborhood had a private gun range that the neighborhood built( nothing fancy just a guy that put a berm up and let people shoot for free). and we would sneak into it and shoot as the city park range was $10 plus it was full of ghetto people.  One day as was pulling out of the neighborhood range I saw a little 1200sqft house for sale.  I called and they told me a price and I bought it kinda on the spot without really seeing the inside.  I told my wife I was under contract for a house and she kinda figured it was a rental but she really liked it.  She joked about selling our big house and so I listed it and it sold in 1 hour but they wanted us out in 30 days.  So we moved into our RV while we worked on the house.  Then I broke my back and we ended up in the RV for almost a year as I couldn’t really work on the house and all my other properties were rented out.  But long story short we live in a very Republican area now where nobody cares what you do unless you mess with their property.  Everyone is very respectful and quiets down at night even though there is no noise ordinance.

Sounds brilliant to be honest. In the uk you can't **** without offering someone.

He would have been crucified over here.  People take crimes against horses more seriously then crimes against people.

Everyone thought the sentence he got was a "token gesture" and should have been a lot longer  .

The saving grace in the whole thing was a friend of a friend of a friend of the guy next door was in the same prison at the same time ... and made sure he "accidentally slipped in the shower " ...

And more so the 2 horses finally made a full recovery
