Think I know what this is, but just wanted to pop it on here, to see if anyone can confirm.

Not the greatest of photos as from a trail cam. If it is a pine marten, I've not seen one before, and didn't know they were there.

The other option is mink, maybe the photo not good enough to confirm? (Its not in Wiltshire!)

Only seen one once , it could be, BUT i feel even at that angle you'd see part of the bib. I fancy it's a mink. But hey i could be wrong, try and bait near the camera.

My first thought was Pine Martin, but the point about the bib is a good one.

I’m with ninja on this one.

Thanks for all the comments, I'm pretty sure it's a pine marten. I think JDog is right with the long hind legs. Hopefully will get another picture of it in due course.

Great post, really interesting picture.  I tend to with Pine marten,  it is very mink like but the hind legs look too long.  But we all know how misleading a snap image can be.

it’s a Buzzard!   For those with long memories.

Well, he didn’t tonight when the chaser caught him.

I just had to watch the re-run of that just to see him get it wrong after explaining all about the planets. The look on his face was classic.😂😂
